Emotional Landscapes

From the Artist - "Immersion in a natural environment and collaborating with fellow creators helps me to  get in touch with my creative source, I use this process to formulate ideas for my work, using a collection of materials in this process - metal , stone and wood, attempting to make functional sculpture and in some cases kinetic, which brings in the acoustic dimension as well as visual."

"I endeavour to honestly and accurately take inner emotion or thought and externalize it through a creative process thus concluding  in a tangible

recreation. An extension of this concept is to help other people recognize this process and encourage them to utilize its potential for their benefit. The sources of my creative endeavour come from my exposure to the struggles of life as first as an outsider to the Australian context and secondly as part of this country.

My relationship to the Australian environment and land  and that of Zimbabwe  where I grew up has influenced my sculptural work.  The sharing of techniques, concepts and working alongside other creators provides impetus to create unique expressions of inner experience.

Art benefits us as human beings as the process of creativity helps us to identify with our core self, thus aiding us to recognize our wants and needs and giving us the ability to attain those goals. "
